Expansion and Tranquility

In an existing 1956 house, a 200 SF bathroom was totally reconfigured to create a new spa-like suite without changing the exterior envelope. The design intent was to create the illusion of more expansive space while grounding the interior in the tranquility of the lush hillside site. Finish materials were selected to echo the natural landscape of the Pacific Northwest and the changing colors of Puget Sound which can be viewed from the bathtub.
