Reinterpret and Restructure

A house built in the contemporary vernacular of the “Northwest School” with many disparate levels and isolated rooms was totally restructured internally due to regulations which prohibit expansion. Horizontal circulation axes provide a spine for new open and multifunctional rooms while a stair shaft with a custom glass rail achieves improved connection between floors. A palette of materials honoring the original house includes jewelry-like details of oil rubbed bronze.
